BELTSVILLE, Md. - Five students were injured in a school bus accident Monday in Prince George's County.
It happened after 7 a.m. in the 4600 block of Powder Mill Road near High Point High School in Beltsville.
A school bus was left unattended and started to drift, hitting one student, according to the Prince George's County Police Department's official twitter page. The student was pulled from under the bus.
Four other students suffered minor injuries. None of the injuries are deemed life-threatening, according to police.
Eastbound Powder Mill Road was closed as authorities investigate. One westbound lane was also blocked immediately following the accident.
Fire officials initially said two students were his by the bus, but police say only one was struck.
