His first name is Four, but after Wednesday evening’s thrilling buzzer-beater victory, the Towson Tigers might start calling sophomore guard Four McGlynn Mr. Number 3.
McGlynn propelled Towson’s basketball program to its first ever post season victory, the university’s student-run newspaper The Towerlight reports .
“Well, [I was thinking] that we were fortunate,” Head Coach Pat Skerry told The Towerlight . “You got to have a little luck, and we definitely had some good luck.”
The Tigers advanced to the next round of the CollegeInsider.com Post Season Tournament with the 63-60 win over University of South Carolina Upstate.
“Towson (24-10), which trailed by as many as 15 points, took a 60-58 lead with seven seconds remaining on a driving layup by senior Jerrelle Benimon,” according to Dustin Semonavick, of TowsonTigers.com “After Ty Green of USC Upstate scored to tie the game with 1.6 seconds left, McGlynn launched a three-pointer from 45-feet out at the buzzer to give the Tigers their first ever postseason victory.”

The Tigers go on to play on East Tennessee State on Friday at 7 p.m.
