A day after their third win of the season some Ravens players were taking part in a first for this year. Several rookies were at Patterson Park Monday.

They hosted the team’s first PLAY 60 festival to kick off the year-round program.

The PLAY 60 campaign encourages kids to exercise and be active for at least 60 minutes per day. It’s all in hopes to reverse the trend of childhood obesity.

Around 300 kids from various Baltimore City after-school programs took part in football drills and activities.

“It doesn’t take that much to stay in shape and have a healthy lifestyle. It takes 60 minutes a day,” said Ravens receiver Chris Moore.

“You just come out here, have fun with your friends, and whoever you want to have fun with, and just stay healthy.” “As far as the kids are concerned, it’s all about having fun,” said Ravens youth football instructor Tom LaNeve. “If they are coming out and having fun and enjoying, we’re able to bring football and bring out the fun in that too.”

Last year the Ravens’ PLAY 60 initiatives impacted more than 14,000 kids throughout greater Baltimore.
