Maryland may be where Olympians are made.
Athletes from the Old Line State cleaned up in Rio, winning 18 gold medals.
So, if Maryland were a country, it would've ranked fifth in the world for most gold medals.

Michael Phelps, a Towson native, won five golds and one silver. Bethesda native Katie Ledecky brought home four golds and one silver.
