Baltimore Ravens quarterbacks coach Hue
Jackson is leaving to take the position as offensive coordinator for the
Oakland Raiders.
Jackson was quoted by the Ravens' website as saying he met with Raiders owner
Al Davis last week to discuss the position under current Oakland head coach
Tom Cable.
Speculation surrounding Cable's job security has been rampant since the
Raiders completed the 2009 season with a record of 5-11. The Raiders did not
have an offensive coordinator last season.
Cable and Jackson worked together at the University of California in 1996.
Jackson spent two seasons as quarterbacks coach for the Ravens, helping
develop Joe Flacco, who has been the team's starter for two years since being
selected as a first-round pick in 2008.
Before joining the Ravens, Jackson spent 2007 as offensive coordinator with
Atlanta. He was also the offensive coordinator for Washington in 2003.
