Protesting Browns Fans to Meet with Owner

Reported by: Dave McHugh
Last Update: 11/02 1:58 pm
Two longtime Cleveland Browns fans are so disgusted with the team's decade of losing, they are trying to organize fans to protest at their upcoming Monday Night Football game against the Baltimore Ravens. And that has gotten them a meeting with Browns owner Randy Lerner.

Mike Randall and Tony Schafer have been urging fans to stay away from their seats for the opening kickoff of November 16th's game which will air on ESPN's Monday Night Football. The two have been frustrated with the Browns inability to win and succeed since the team returned to Cleveland in 1999.

Their protest efforts have gotten them a meeting with the very private Lerner Tuesday. At the meeting, Randal, who is also known as "Dawg Pound Mike," plans to present Lerner with over 2,000 e-mails he has received from fans since announcing the "walk-in" protest. Randall also hopes he can convince Lerner to speak directly to the Browns fan base.

The Browns are is 55-114 since 1999 and are currently 1-7 on the season after losing to Chicago on Sunday 30-6. That includes a 34-3 loss to Baltimore in Week 3 of this season.
