Arena football is coming to Baltimore next year.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment announced Monday that a new Arena Football League team will play at Royal Farms Arena beginning in the spring of 2017.

The team, which hasn’t been named, is still looking for a head coach. It joins the Washington Valor as one of the newest teams in the AFL.

“We are looking forward to bringing an AFL team to the Baltimore community,” Monumental Sports & Entertainment founder and majority owner Ted Leonsis said. “Baltimore is known for its passionate sports fans, and we look forward to their spirited support of their AFL team.”

The Arena Football League has been around since 1987 and ended its 29th season this year with 20 million fans in the U.S.

Monumental Sports & Entertainment also owns the Washington Wizards, Washington Capitals, Washington Mystics and the AFL’s Washington Valor.

Baltimore fans can purchase tickets with a $50 deposit per seat by calling 667-930-0200 or by visiting Ticketmaster.
