The Baltimore Orioles made it official on
Tuesday by re-signing veteran left-hander Mark Hendrickson to a one-year deal
with a team option for the 2011 campaign.
Financial details were not released, however the Baltimore Sun previously
reported the deal to be worth $1.2 million.
Hendrickson enjoyed one of the best years of his career last season with the
Orioles, as he went 6-5 with a save and a 4.37 earned run average in 53 games
(11 starts).
The 35-year-old veteran has a career mark of 56-68 with a 5.00 ERA in 268 big
league games over eight seasons with Toronto, Tampa Bay, Los Angeles, Florida
and Baltimore.
Baltimore also signed left-handed pitcher Will Ohman to a minor league
contract with an invitation to spring training and designated right-hander
Armando Gabino for assignment.
The 32-year-old Ohman saw action in only 21 games with the Dodgers last season
before being placed on the disabled list with inflammation in his throwing
shoulder in late May. He was then transferred to the 60-day DL on July 30 with
the same issue.
Ohman has an 11-9 career mark with a 4.25 ERA in 324 appearances with the
Chicago Cubs, Atlanta and the Dodgers.
Gabino was claimed on waivers from Minnesota in early November of last year.
