Kenwood High School junior Claudia Tonti believes in being a leader both at sporting events where she cheers and at after school activities where she excels.
“I like to take charge and do things and help others,” Tonti said.
Tonti has been involved in student government since the sixth grade and now is president of her class. She also serves on Baltimore County Public Schools Superintendent Dallas Dance’s student advisory board.
“It’s her attitude," Giovanna Zito, Tonti's cheerleading coach said. "Her attitude, when she comes to practice, is always upbeat. She’s always very outgoing. She never comes in in a bad mood.”
She’s a straight-A student enrolled in three academic honors societies.
“I just think she’s going to be very successful in life with her outgoing attitude," Zito said. "Just the aura about her there’s something that draws you to her.”
Outside of school, Tonti is involved in programs like Adopt-a-Family, as well as fund-raiser walks for breast cancer and diabetes, as well as the program Hoops for Hearts with the American Heart Association.
