Glenelg and Bel Air girls win LAX state titles

Championship week is underway in Maryland high school lacrosse.

The Glenelg and Bel Air girls teams both captured state titles on Tuesday night at Stevenson University.  The Glenelg boys fell just short.

In the girls 3A/2A state final Glenelg topped C.M. Wright 12-3.  The Gladiators secured their second consecutive state championship. They finish the season 20-0 and ranked No. 2 in the nation.

In the girls 4A/3A state final Bel Air edged Severna Park 10-9.

In the boys 3A/2A state final Glenelg fell to Northern Calvert 5-4.

Three more state championship games are on the schedule for Wednesday night at Stevenson University:

4:00pm - Boys 2A/1A: Southern-AA vs. South Carroll

6:00pm - Girls 2A/1A: Fallston vs. Century

8:00pm - Boys 4A/3A: Severna Park vs. Churchill
