Former Ravens wide receiver Michael D. Jackson was killed in a motorcycle crash in Louisiana early Friday morning, according to police.

Louisiana State Police said 48-year-old Jackson and 20-year-old Destiny Alexus Gordon died after a two-vehicle crash in Tangipahoa Parish.

Troopers said Jackson was riding a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle at “a high rate of speed” when Gordon backed her car from a parking space and into the path of Jackson’s motorcycle.

The motorcycle crashed into her driver’s side door. Police said Jackson was driving so fast that the motorcycle “penetrated into the driver’s compartment,” killing both of them.

The crash is under investigation.

Jackson played for the Ravens from 1996 to 1998. He was part of the original Ravens lineup when the team relocated from Cleveland.
