Ray Rice out for Ravens; Ed Reed to play for Texans

BALTIMORE - Ravens running back Ray Rice has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.

Rice, who had played in 66 straight games, injured his hip late in the Ravens 14-6 win over the Cleveland Browns last week.

The Ravens announced that Bernard Pierce will start in place of Rice. Also, wide receiver Jacoby Jones remains out with a knee injury with Brandon Stokley set to take his place in the starting lineup. In addition, defensive end Marcus Spears will start in place of Chris Canty.

Other inactives for the Ravens include linebacker Arthur Brown, center Ryan Jensen, wideout Deonte Thompson, defensive tackle Brandon Williams and Canty.

As for the Texans, former Ravens safety Ed Reed is expected to play for Houston after missing the first two games while recovering from offseason hip surgery.

Inactives for the Texans include quarterback Case Keenum, receiver Lestar Jean, linebacker Sam Montgomery, guard Cody White, tackle Duane Brown, linebacker Justin Tuggle and defensive end Tim Jamison.
