The Ravens released outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil Wednesday.

In four season with the Ravens, Dumervil had 125 tackles, 35.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles and four fumble recoveries in 55 games. The 11-year veteran started 24 games in Baltimore.

"Elvis Dumervil has been a leader for us on and off the field," general manager and executive vice president Ozzie Newsome stated. "He has made a positive impression on our franchise, and we have been fortunate to have him as a Raven. We respect his professionalism and the way he plays the game, in addition to his extensive charitable efforts that have greatly impacted our Baltimore community and his parents' native country of Haiti. We have not closed the door on the possibility of him returning in the future."

Dumervil missed eight games in 2016 while recovering from a foot/ankle injury. In 2014, he set a Ravens single-season franchise-record with 17 sacks (the NFL's third most that season). He also set Baltimore's single-season recrod with a career-high 127.5 sack yards in 2014.

In 146 career games, Dumervil recorded 389 tackles, 24 forced fumbles, 13 fumble recoveries and one interception.
