The Baltimore Ravens have released two defensive backs, corner back Shareece Wright and safety Kendrick Lewis.

Releasing the two cleared about $5 million in salary cap space, according to the Ravens.

Wright struggled last season after signing a 3-year contract a year ago. He was replaced in Week 6 by rookie fourth-round pick Tavon Young.

He was moved back to the starting lineup after Jimmy Smith got hurt in Week 14. Wright finished the season with nine starts, 52 tackles and six passes defended.

Lewis signed a three-year contract two years ago. He started 15 games and made 38 tackles in his first season.

He lost his starting job to free-agent Eric Weddle and converted safety Lardarius Webb. He was placed on injured reserve on Oct. 22.
