Tim Williams couldn't wait to step foot onto an NFL field.

“Last night I just kept waking up in the middle of the night because I was just like so anxious,” said the new Ravens linebacker.

Now maybe Williams can get a little more sleep this evening.

“Just to get the first practice out of the way, now I know what to expect,” the third-round draft pick added.

The Ravens kicked off their three-day rookie minicamp on Friday. It’s a time for players to get their first taste of the pro football and a chance for the Ravens to start showing their newest players what being a member of the franchise is all about.

“First day, so you’re a little new to everything.  You’re just trying to get used to it, get used to the speed at the next level,” said second-round pick, linebacker Tyus Bowser. “But, overall it went really good.”

“We go to work every day. We work hard. We’re going to stop the run on the defense and then we’re going to get after them on pass. So, that’s what I’m looking forward to, whatever role my role may be,” said third-round pick, defensive end pick Chris Wormley.

Among the 22 player rookie class is fourth-round draft pick, out of San Diego State, Nico Siragusa. The guard is not related to former Ravens defensive tackle Tony.

“I feel bad for him (Tony Siragusa) because for like a year and a half now everybody’s been calling me Tony Siragusa’s son,” said Nico. “So, I wonder what his wife thinks. I wonder if she’s like ‘What? You had a kid in San Diego that I don’t know about?’”

The Ravens started their rookie minicamp with five of their seven draft picks under contract, including first-rounder Marlon Humphrey.  The cornerback was among the five signees on Friday.  The only unsigned selections are Wormley and Williams.  Rookie minicamp wraps up on Sunday.
