Ravens' Ayanbadejo issues apology for Twitter rant

As news broke of Brendon Ayanbadejo of the Baltimore Ravens taking shots at the New England Patriots on Twitter, his apology was issued.

At about 11 a.m. Monday, the Ravens linebacker issued an apology in the same place he earlier did something described by Jamison Hensley of ESPN as the "biggest (and dumbest) mistake in what has been a magical postseason so far for Baltimore."

Hensley says Ayanbadejo, who played in 16 games this season and had a total of 43 tackles, came across as silly and classless in the Twitter rant that questioned the integrity of the New England organization and called the Pats' hurry-up offense "a gimmick."

"I made selfish comments on Twitter last night that reflected poorly upon myself, my teammates and the organization. For that I apologize," Ayanbadejo tweeted Monday.

What do the Patriots think? In a radio interview Monday, New England quarterback Tom Brady said the comments won't derail the team's preparation for Baltimore.

"We've had a lot of people comment about our team and our players this year. I think the best thing that we do is that we ignore the noise…" Brady told WEEI in Boston. ( LISTEN )
