Joe Flacco expected to start season opener

The Ravens announced a timeframe for Joe Flacco's return. 

The team said Flacco will return to practice in the preseason, but fans will have to wait until the regular season to see him on the game field.

He's expected to be the starting quarterback during the regular season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sept. 10.

On Friday, the Ravens also announced offensive lineman Alex Lewis will miss the 2017 season. He aggravated his shoulder and has not responded to treatment, according to the team.

Rookie wide receiver Tim White injured his thumb in Thursday's game against Washington. He'll need surgery and is expected to miss the season.
