Sean Sandora, varsity head football coach of the Dundalk Owls has been named the 2015 Ravens High School Coach of the Year. Sandora is the 19th recipient of the annual award.

The Owls finished the season with a 12-2 record, their best season in school history. Behind the fourth-year coach, Dundalk made its first trip tot he Maryland Public Secondary School Athletic Association (MPSSAA) Class 3A Championship game.

"This season, we were very senior heavy," Sandora said. "Our seniors and I arrived at Dundalk together in 2012, and we have all grown in that time. Within that individual growth, our program continues to grow as well. All of our players know they cannot execute every play perfectly, but they can give perfect effort on every play. They did that this entire season, and I could not be prouder of them."

Dundalk qualified for the MPSSAA playoffs for the eighth time in program history. After falling to the Franklin Indians in the regular season, Dundalk defeated them in the state quarterfinals to advance. In the state semifinals, the Owls came back from the a 34-33 deficit in the fourth quarter to win 41-34. A 15-yard touchdown pass to RB Kobi Eure from QB Darrius Sample with just 27 seconds on the clock sent the Owls to the title game. Dundalk's season came to an end with a loss to Damascus in the championship.

Each week, the Ravens honored a high school coach made a significant impact on his student athletes. Each winner attended the Ravens-Chiefs game and received a $2,000 donation for the school's football program and award from Ravens head coach John Harbaugh.

Sandora received an additional $2,000 donation toward Dundalk's football program for being named coach of the year.
