Former University of Maryland defensive back Sean Taylor was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the NFL Draft.

With the 58th overall pick, Davis is the highest Maryland player selected since Torrey Smith also went 58th overall to the Ravens in 2011.

He appeared in 50 career games with 40 starts. Davis was the first Maryland player to record 200 career solo tackles since current NFL linebacker D'Qwell Jackson in 2005.

Davis transitioned from safety to cornerback for his senior season. He was a 2015 Honorable Mention All-Big Ten. He led the team with 70 sacks and finished the year with 88 total tackles.

Davis also had five forced fumbles in 2015, the second-most in Maryland single-season history. He ranked fourth in the Big Ten with 5.8 solo tackles per game and tied for the team lead with three interceptions.

The Terps have had a player selected in 21 of the last 22 NFL Drafts.
