The Big Ten regular season champs did not disappoint Thursday night in the conference semifinals.
Maryland opened the contest with six straight goals and never looked back as the Terps cruised past Penn State, 16-9.
Thursday’s win is Maryland’s 12th consecutive victory, matching the program record set back in 1987.

The Terps offense started scoring early and often. Sophomore Connor Kelly scored a career-high four goals. Junior attacker Matt Rambo tallied three goals and two assists.
Maryland started the game with four goals in less than eight minutes. Goals by Kelly, Rambo and Pat Young, Colin Heacock and Dylan Maltz gave the Terps a 6-0 advantage.

Penn State responded with three goal run of their own, cutting the deficit in half.
Maryland’s offense answered with four straight goals, taking a commanding 10-3 lead. The Nittany Lions got on a roll to come within three. The Terps led 10-5 at the half.
Penn State’s momentum was short lived, Maryland started the second half just like the first, with lots of scoring. They closed the third quarter with four straight goals, increasing their lead to 14-7. The Terps tacked on two more for the final score, 16-9.

The win advances Maryland to the Big Ten championship game against Rutgers Saturday at 6 p.m. at Homewood Field.
