There will be a new Big Ten tournament champion at the end of this weekend. The defending champion Johns Hopkins Blue Jays fell to Rutgers Thursday night in an exciting, nail-biting contest.
The two teams traded goals and the lead the entire game. In the end, the Scarlet Knights came away with the 14-12 victory and the ticket to the championship against top-seed Maryland.

Rutgers fast-paced offense presented a challenge for the Blue Jays defense. The Scarlet Knights took advantage of several fast break situations. Meanwhile, offensively Hopkins slowed the ball down and worked methodically to break down Rutgers defense.
Hopkins senior attacker Ryan Brown was unstoppable, recording five goals and two assists. Sophomore attacker Shack Stanwick had two goals and two assists.
The Blue Jays earned the Big Ten championship title last season in its inaugural year. Although they won't have a repeat performance in front of their home fans, they could still qualify for the post season. The official post-season selection will happen Sunday at 9 p.m.
Rutgers is set to face Maryland for this year's title. The two teams will face-off Saturday at Homewood Field at 6 p.m.
