BOSTON (AP) - The Chicago Blackhawks have won their fifth Stanley Cup and second since 2010, doing so with a two-goal flurry in the waning moments.
Bryan Bickell and Dave Bolland scored in the final 76 seconds to give the Blackhawks a 3-2 comeback win over the Bruins in Game 6 of the finals in Boston. Bolland's Cup-winning goal came just 17 seconds after Bickell knotted the score.
The Bruins appeared poised to force a Game 7 after Milan Lucic (loo-CHEECH) tallied with 7:49 remaining. Boston later killed off a minor penalty but couldn't hold off a Chicago team that outshot the Bruins 16-7 in the third period.
Jonathan Toews (tayvz) scored the Hawks' first goal and assisted on the game-tying tally. Toews' availability for the game was in doubt after he suffered a head injury in Saturday's win over the Bruins.
Corey Crawford handled 23 shots for the Blackhawks, while Tuukka (TOO'-kah) Rask made 28 saves for the Bruins.
Patrick Kane came away with the Conn Smythe (smyth) Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs. Kane scored nine goals and 19 points in 23 games.
