Operation Orange rallies bring Orioles into community

BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Orioles' first home game is on Friday, but throughout the week "Operation Orange" rallies will be getting fans excited across our area.

Orioles Hall of Famer Boog Powell and the Oriole Bird started the rallies with a visit to the Arundel Mills Mall Grand Slam Saturday in the Food Court on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.

While the Orioles are playing their Opening Day game in the Tampa Bay, the rally crew, Hall of Famer Boog Powell, and the Orioles Bird will be at Dempsey's Opening Day Kick-Off at Dempsey's Brew Pub and Restaurant.  The even runs from  1 to 3 pm.  Guests will be able to get all-day happy hour specials.

The Oriole Bird and Mr. Boh will be at the Canton Square Orioles Pep Rally from 6 to 8 pm.  Besides rally activities, fans can watch the Orioles game with the Buccaneers in the Canton Square Bars, starting at 7:10 pm.

The Operation Orange Happy Hour Hour at Power Plant Live goes from 5 to 7 pm.  Fans can watch the Tampa Bay game and meet former Orioles outfielder Joe Orsulak and the Oriole Bird.  Happy hour food and drink specials will be available.

The rallies end on Saturday with the "Birds are Back" rally at the Town Mall in Westminster.  Orioles pitcher Miguel Monzalez and Hall of Famer Chris Hoiles are scheduled to attend and sign autographs from 10 am to noon.

The rallies will have ticket giveaways, trivia and raffles for Orioles gear.  Visit www.orioles.com/operationorange for the list of events.
