It is that time again, and the Orioles faithful are ready for the 2016 season.

"It is such a big tradition for my parents and I. We're just so tight and baseball is our life," Angel Smith said.

It likely comes as no surprise that was a common story amongst the Monday crowd. There are so many people who hold that tradition of cheering on the home team on Opening Day close to their hearts.

"It really starts the season off right, it's the energy and the crowd. It's the players. They're just coming back from spring training. It is just so much enthusiasm," Barry West, at his 17th opening day, said.

"It's a big deal. We always leave really early in the morning, drive up here. We live in the Eastern shore so it takes us a little while to get over here," Taylor Hunt told ABC2.

Getting there for game time is just part of the fun for Domonique Brodie and her father. Getting dressed is another. They say the quality time at the park just can't be beat.

"It's probably setting a bad example. She should be in school right now. She didn't go. I called in. This is probably not good. I called and said that she was sick, but it's okay. She'll miss a day. Her grades are good," Troy Brodie said with a laugh.

It wasn't easy finding a first timer, but along came Jim Hunan with his friends.

He has loved the O's for a long time, but never made the trip from Gettysburg to Baltimore.

"Coming in my first time knowing I'm at Camden Yards is pretty awesome never having a chance to come here before," he said.

Whether it was their 1st, 17th, or 25th year at the park, there was the same excitement and optimism about the birds.

"The Orioles are the best and we are ready for a great season and World Series time in October," West said.
