BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Orioles have announced that Wei-Yin Chen is the probable start on the mound for tonight's matchup.
Chen has faced Yankee batters before, 102 in 2012 to be exact. In those individual matchups over the span of three games, he gave up 18 runs on 23 hits. He has a 1-2 record against the Yankees.
Taking the mound for the Yankees will be left-hander Andrew Pettitte. He has a 5-4 record this season on 12 starts. He has not faced Orioles batters this season, but he had a 1-0 record against Oriole batters in 2012.
The Yankees currently lead the five-game series 1-0. Tonight's 8 p.m. game in Baltimore is the last of the series to be played at Camden Yards. The other three games, if needed, will all be played in New York.
Sunday's series opener was an emotional one highlighted by the largest and loudest crowd Oriole Park has seen all season. It was a nail-biter until the ninth inning when the Yankees took a five-run advantage to later go on and win 7-2.
