Baltimore Blast host Silver Knights in MISL playoffs

BALTIMORE - The Baltimore Blast will try to book another ticket to the Major Indoor Soccer League championship game Tuesday night with a win over the Syracuse Silver Knights.

The Blast comfortably dismantled Syracuse over the weekend, securing Game 1 of the home-and-away series 20-7.

Should the Silver Knights beat Baltimore in regulation Tuesday night, both teams will play a 15-minute overtime game immediately following the first match.

The winner will go on to play either the Missouri Comets or rivals Milwaukee Wave. The Wave swept the Blast early in the season winning back-to-back contests, 8-0 and 12-10.

The Wave, trounced by the Comets 20-6 in its playoff opener, came back Monday to force a mini-game tie-breaker. (Update)

The Blast had to overturn a 4-0 scoreline in last year’s final after a first-half shutout. The team came back to win 8-4 against the Comets.

Monday's match between the Comets and the Wave was streamed live online (below). Mobile and tablet users can watch the game here

The Blast kick-off against the Silver Knights at 7:35 p.m. Tuesday at the Baltimore Arena.
