The National Zoo in Washington D.C. has welcomed the birth of a Sumatran tiger cub.
The cub was born on Tuesday afternoon to the zoo's 8-year-old Sumatran tiger Damai. Zookeepers watched the birth via a closed-circuit camera.
They are waiting to determine the birth to allow the mom and cub to bond.
If you want to see the new cub in person, it's going to be a few months. The zoo says the cub won't be on public view until it's passed health exams and a swimming test.
The International Union for Conservation of Nature lists Sumatran tigers as critically endangers and estimates there are only 300-400 in the wild.
