Being asked for your identification is standard protocol at most bars and nightclubs. But your Facebook page? That's the latest move by some United Kingdom bars to keep underage drinkers out.
The BBC reports that bouncers are asking people to pull up their Facebook account on their smartphone to crosscheck the name on their ID. Bouncers can face very big fines if they let underage drinkers into a club. While it may seem like an invasion of privacy, but club goers have to play by the rules if they want to be let in.There is a battle going on in the U.S. about whether employers can ask for a job applicant's Facebook password so their profiles can be checked out. Two U.S. senators tried to get legislation passed that would ban the practice, but it did not pass.
