Crews battle wildfire east of Los Angeles

RANCHO CUCAMONGA, Calif. (AP) -- A mandatory evacuation order has been canceled for some neighborhoods in Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., that were threatened Wednesday by a wildfire that burned more than 1,000 acres of foothills east of Los Angeles.
The blaze was fed by hot, dry winds gusting to 70 mph, and those winds could pick up again Thursday.
The National Weather Service has issued a red-flag warning of extremely dangerous fire conditions in Los Angeles, Orange and Ventura counties until 8 p.m. Thursday.
