Coast Guard finds 3,000 pounds of drugs

CUBA -

The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter "Confidence" hauled in quite a catch over the weekend.

They found 82 bales of marijuana and cocaine on the open sea just south of Cuba.

Officials say the drugs were probably thrown overboard by smugglers making a run who needed to avoid authorities.

The drugs weighed in at nearly 3,000 pounds and carry a street value of over $2 million.
