An immediate shelter-in-place order was issued before noon after a report of a shooting on campus. A message was posted to the university's official twitter account telling students to avoid Gould Hall.
Norman police officers responded to the scene to assist campus police with a shots fired call at the campus that came in just after 11 a.m. They dispatched officers and medical personnel but could provide no other information.
Professor Mike Boettcher was in a classroom with students across from Gould Hall. He tells 2NEWS,
our Scripps station in Tulsa, they were asked to stay where they were.
Boettcher said about 15 cruisers from city and campus police pulled up from the south oval to Gould Hall. Officers emerged from their vehicles with guns drawn.
Gould Hall houses the college of architecture, according to the OU website. It's located on the south oval.
