Science says men sleep better than women

Did you know that men often sleep better than women?

Sometimes it's genetic, more often than not, it's because women often have sleep issues that go undiagnosed and untreated.
 

Dr. Rachel Salas, specializes in sleep disorders at Johns Hopkins.

She says women are at a greater risk for insomnia, restless leg syndrome and sleep apnea after menopause.

Warning signs include getting 7 to 9 hours of sleep and still not feeling rested, and
 

If you wake up more than two times a night and you're not able to go back to sleep within 15 minutes or so and you're doing this more than three times a week for the realm of three months you're in the realm of chronic insomnia.
 

Sleep is just one of the things they'll be talking about at Johns Hopkins A Woman's Journey conference Saturday.

The 23rd annual event features a day dedicated to women's health issues.  More than 40 physicians from Hopkins will talk about everything from new cancer therapy to a new initiative to lessen missed a medical diagnosis.
