When the Olson girls' dad couldn't make a daddy-daughter dance, four Valley police officers were there to step in.
It may not have been the call they expected to answer, but what the four officers did made for a night the girls will never forget.
"I got to finally go to the dance that I really wanted to go to instead of just me and my mom," explained 10-year-old Haley Olson of Phoenix.
Olson's dad couldn't make the dance because of work.
Her daughters could have skipped the dance, they could have gone stag or mom could have filed in--but instead Laura Castaneda had other plans.
"My husband wasn't able to come and I don't have a lot of positive male role models in my life, so I thought 'Why not police officers?!'"
Castaneda reached out to the Phoenix and Avondale police departments and two officers from each city volunteered not just to attend the dance but also to show off their moves!
"Me and my police officer created a giant circle of the cha cha cha and it was super fun!" Haley explained.
They got to spend the night with these heroes, who saved the day in ways they could never have imagined.
"Just to see a complete stranger willing to come and help me and my family...it was touching," Castaneda explained.
Touching, not just because they sacrificed their time, showed up for people they didn't even know, but also because that night what they did was nothing short of magic.
A magic every little girl deserves to experience.
"I will forever be grateful and my girls will have this memory for the rest of their lives, so I can't thank them enough."
