Utility crews still working to restore MD power

BALTIMORE (AP) - Utility crews are seeking to turn the lights back on for the last of thousands of customers in the Mid-Atlantic region after this week's strong storms.

The storms left thousands without power in Maryland and around the nation's capital while several hundred customers reported outages in northern Virginia.

As of 1 p.m. Wednesday, Baltimore Gas and Electric reported about 9,000 Maryland customers without service, while Potomac Edison was reporting more than 22,000 customers without power in Maryland.
