Body found in an embankment in Allegany County has Maryland State Police searching for answers.
Around 9:15 p.m. Friday night, C3I and Maryland State Police Homicide investigators were called to the area of Loop Pole Road in Little Orleans for a report of a body found.
Responders found a decomposing body about 15-20 feet away from the road in an embankment, police said.
Investigators found possible trauma to the body, which was found clothed.
The body was sent to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner to determine the cause of death.
Maryland State Troopers have confirmed the body belonged to an adult. They are in the process of identifying the victim and notifying the family.
