Maryland is number 8 in the nation. The average salary for elementary, middle and high school teachers in our state is about $65,000 a year.
Teachers in Alaska make the most money with an average salary of almost $78,000.
While teachers in Mississippi make the least amount of money, averaging just over $42,000 a year.
