SALISBURY, Md. (AP) -- Salisbury's police chief is retiring after 10 years in the post.
Chief Allan Webster announced Wednesday that the current crime bubble and a public conflict between him and Mayor Jim Ireton did not influence his choice.
Webster's suit filed against the city after Ireton issued him the first reprimands of his career has been withdrawn. Ireton says four disciplinary actions he administered have also been withdrawn.
Webster says his last day will be June 30 but he will undergo shoulder surgery Friday and is unsure if he will return before his scheduled last day.
Maj. Jeffrey Livingston has acted in Webster's place since the chief left the office last week to tend to his injury. Ireton says an acting chief will be named next week.
