REHOBOTH BEACH, Del. (AP) -- Rehoboth Beach police say an officer is recovering from a deep cut to his leg after a driver stopped for DUI fought with the officer. Police said the officer was near the Brighton Suites hotel parking garage about 2:15 a.m. Thursday when he saw a car drive into trash cans and a bike rack. The officer stopped 21-year-old Thomas Grogan of Lewes and police said the officer smelled alcohol from Grogan's car. When the officer walked to his car, police said Grogan ran away. The officer caught Grogan, but police said Grogan struggled with the officer and had to be sprayed with pepper spray. Grogan has been charged with driving under the influence and other offenses.
