LAUREL, Md. (AP) -- The city of Laurel has recorded its first homicide of the year.
Police say officers found 44-year-old Andrew Sparacino dead in his home on Dorset Drive earlier this week. Relatives called police after he did not show up for work at a local Verizon office and said they had not been able to reach him for days.
The medical examiner's office ruled Wednesday that Sparacino was killed by blunt force trauma to his head. Investigators noticed the head trauma but were unsure whether someone had inflicted it or Sparacino had fallen.
Police say there were no signs of forced entry, and nothing was taken.
