LA PLATA, Md. (AP) -- The State Fire Marshal says a Waldorf man has been charged with detonating a soda bottle bomb in the parking lot of a store in La Plata.
Twenty-four-year-old Steven Edward MacNulty surrendered to the Charles County Sheriff's Office Thursday morning. He is charged with the possession and detonation of a destructive device.
Authorities say witnesses saw MacNulty throw the device on Oct. 16 in the parking lot of Lowe's. Investigators say MacNulty has denied taking part in the incident.
