Storm causes thousands of outages across Md.

Nearly 42,000 Baltimore Gas and Electric customers lost power Tuesday night due to a severe thunderstorm that ripped across the state. 

The highest number of outages were reported in Baltimore County and Harford County with 13,600 and 9,2000 outages, respectively. 

BGE crews reported power to 33,345 customers by 11 p.m. 

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Pepco says more than 28,000 customers in Montgomery County are without power as strong storms moved through the metro area.

The power company's website says that as of about 8 p.m. Tuesday 28,276 customers are without power in Montgomery County. Another 3,600 customers are without power in Prince George's County.

About 200 customers are without power in the District of Columbia, where it was still raining at 8 p.m.
