One of the best basketball players to come out of Maryland will be recognized in his hometown next week.
Kevin Durant's hometown of Seat Pleasant is hosting "The Kevin Durant Day Parade and Festival" on August 17.
It's an all-day event starting at 10 a.m. that includes a one-on-one basketball tournament at the Seat Pleasant Activity Center. Durant donated the outdoor basketball courts there.
The NBA Finals MVP gave Prince George's County a shout out when the Golden State Warriors won the title.
