ELLICOTT CITY, Md. (AP) -- A former Maryland School for the Deaf dormitory aide faces sentencing in Ellicott City for molesting two female students.
Thirty-eight-year-old Clarence Taylor could get up to 50 years in prison at his hearing Friday. He also faces retrial on charges he sexually abused four other students at the school's Columbia campus from 2008 to 2011.
Taylor has denied all the charges. He's seeking a new trial on the charges on which he was convicted in November.
Prosecutors say Taylor used hugs and elaborate handshakes as opportunities to brush his hands and arms across the victims' breasts. One victim testified Taylor grabbed her rear end and swiped his hand between her legs.
Taylor and his accusers are deaf. The court has employed American Sign Language interpreters for the proceedings.
