ROCKVILLE, Md. (AP) -- A Rockville day care operator has been charged in the death of a 6-month-old girl under his care.

Montgomery County police said in a news release that 35-year-old Kia Divband was arrested Monday and charged with second-degree murder and two counts of first-degree child abuse following the Friday death of Miller "Millie" Lilliston.

Court records say Lilliston suffered at least 11 cracked ribs, a fractured arm, a fractured thigh bone, head injuries, and other injuries on April 19, three days before she died in a hospital.

Divband and his wife own Little Dreamers Creative Learning Center, a licensed day-care center in the basement of their Rockville home.

Divband told investigators the infant became unresponsive after the baby started choking and vomiting when he tried to feed her.
