Police are searching for the person responsible for posting white nationalist fliers at the University of Maryland's College Park campus.

One message said the flyer was "a notice to all white Americans, it's your civic duty to report any and all illegal aliens."

Students said the flier doesn't represent the diversity and culture on the University of Maryland campus.

University President Wallace Loh released the following statement condemning the act:

“The white nationalist posters found on college campuses, including our own, contain detestable language that is an affront to who we are, and what we stand for, as the State's flagship university. As a community, we stand for excellence, diversity, and inclusion. We stand against all forms of ignorance and hate. UMPD is investigating this matter as a hate bias.”

Senator Ben Cardin also released statement on the incident stating, "hate is not an American value."
