Protestors push back against gun laws

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -

Governor O'Malley is pushing for stronger gun laws in Maryland, but some residents are pushing back.

Nearly 1,000 people gathered near the State House to protest several gun laws introduced by the governor and support the right to bear arms.

O'Malley wants to ban assault weapons and create stricter licensing requirements for handguns.

The measure also would improve the state's mental health services as a way to prevent violence.
