Propane fire causes over half million in damages

FREDERICK, Md. - A fire in a propane supply yard caused roughly $600,000 in damages.

Frederick County fire and rescue units responded shortly after 1:00 a.m. to the 1500 block of Tilco Drive where they found three separate truck cabs involved in the fire.

The case required special attention due to the close proximity to propane storage tanks and other trucks.  In addition, the three trucks had propane stored on board.

It took roughly 25 firefighters one hour to extinguish the fire, and thanks to their quick response, the crews kept the fire from involving any hazardous material.

The origin and cause of the fire remains under investigation.
