Officials arrested 19-year-old Tyree Torney for allegedly walking into Suitland High School and starting a fire.
Upon investigating the incident, fire investigators say Torney admitted to 2 additional arson incidents dating back to May of 2017. This current incident making it 3 different arson situations.
According to fire officials, Torney stated that he set a bridge on fire in Hyattsville, Maryland on May 2. And in June, he set fire to a home in Upper Marlboro, Maryland that occupied four adults, one infant, and his former girlfriend.
Torney was a probationary member of the Glen Dale Volunteer Fire Association. Officials confirm that he has been removed from all affiliations and operations with the Fire/EMS Department.
