Prince George's County police have identified the officers involved in the fatal shooting of a man suspected of killing two people outside a popular Maryland shopping mall.
One of the officers, Cpl. Phillip Foster, was wounded in the gunfight with 22-year-old James Coleman, who was killed after he emerged from a District Heights home with two guns. Foster was wounded by a shotgun blast, but the injuries were not severe and he was released from the hospital the same day.
Six officers were involved in the shooting. The others were: Lt. Michael Snyder, Sgt. Terrence Nelson, Cpl. James Weinelt, Officer Paul Gambardella and Officer William Ledward. All have been placed
on routine administrative leave.
Police continue to investigate the motive for the shooting at Arundel Mills Mall in Hanover.
