Man combines love of baseball and cycling to help others like himself
The Oriole Bird mascot dances with a fan ono top of the dugout during the seventh inning of the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees game at Oriole Park at Camden Yards on September 6, 2012 in Baltimore, Maryland.
BALTIMORE - On Saturday night Jacob Landis, an Annapolis man on the journey of a lifetime, will watch the O's play ball.
He is biking more than 10,000 miles and will visit 30 major league baseball parks.
The ride is his way of combining his love of baseball and cycling to help others just like him.
Landis, who became deaf at 10, had cochlear implant surgery at Hopkins and since then he's had no problem hearing.
He's biking to raise money for people who can't afford the surgery.
You can join Landis at the game; the O's have reserved 200 seats for Jacob's Ride. They cost $12.
